Method One: Plaster Casting
This process includes applying non-toxic, medical grade plaster strips to your body to create a cast. The whole process takes about an hour including set up and clean up. I can take the cast with me to smooth, reinforce, decorate or prepare it for hanging for an additional fee.

Method Two: High Definition Cast
The gel molding method is a much more involved process, but will produce replications of the body down to the pore. This method involves applying an organic, body-safe gel to the skin to create a mold of the body. A cast is produced from the mold. The cast can then be decorated, painted, or "bronzed" for an additional fee.

IMPORTANT: If you want a cast and it doesn't fit into your budget, please talk to me anyway. I believe that this is a very profound experience and I do not want to turn anyone away. Making this an accessible experience is one of my main priorities so please don't be afraid to ask. I am open to trades, bartering, and negotiating.

FAQs
Q. What types of materials do you make casts out of?
Casts are made of either non-toxic plaster, organic alginate or silicone. All are body safe.
Q. How long does it take?
The process takes about an hour to a hour and a half from set up to clean up. The laying of the plaster takes about 30-45 minutes and about 20 more minutes to dry before removing it from the body. The process to make a cast from alginate and silicone is much more involved and may take closer to two hours.
Q. Will it stick to my body or hurt to take off?
Any part of the body that will be casted will be covered in a barrier cream. This is to prevent the plaster from sticking to your skin and hair. The more hair on an area, the more cream recommended.
Q. I want to get a belly cast done during my pregnancy. Is there a certain time that is best to cast?
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Belly casting is a perfect way to honor such a special time in your life. The casting process can be done at any time. Some women choose to make even three belly casts to remember their body at each trimester, but many women choose to have the cast done between 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy when their bellies are full. However, any time that you feel proud is a good time to cast.
Q. Is it possible for my partner or children to help make the cast?
Absolutely, I love when partners, family and friends want to be involved in the process.
Q. Where does the body casting take place?
I have a studio located in Seattle, WA that most casts are created. However, I can travel to you for an additional fee.
Q. Can I paint my cast after it is done?
Yes, you can paint it after 24 hours. Other ideas include decoupage, painting the baby's name on it, putting the baby's hand prints on it after the birth, have other children help paint, using mosaic. I can paint, decorate or glaze your cast for an additional fee.
